How To Use The LoubouTint Touch-Up
Here are a few useful tips when touching up your beloved Louboutin’s with our specially formulated LoubouTint touch-up paints…
- Clean the area of the shoe sole to be touched up using a suitable leather cleaner (i.e: Dirt Flirt) or alcohol based cleaner and allow to air dry.
- Remove the lid of the LoubouTint jar and stir the paint thoroughly using a suitable implement, taking care to ensure that dye transfer or contamination cannot occur.
- Using a small brush or applicator (i.e: make-up / modeling brush), gently dab a coat of paint onto the area(s) affected and allow to air dry (takes approximately 15-20 minutes per coat). Try to refrain from brushing the paint onto the surface as this will create ‘drag’ marks in the layer of paint which will be very difficult disguise.
- Gradually build up the layers by repeating step 3 until the required thickness / gloss levels are achieved – usually 3 – 4 coats will be sufficient. Please bear in mind that the first coat of paint will appear to ‘soak’ into the leather sole almost completely. This is normal as the leather is porous and is, in fact, creating the base layer required or adhesion.
- Try to ‘blend’ the touch-up with the surrounding area without actually painting over any of the original red leather that is undamaged.
- Allow a minimum of 12 hours for the paint to cure completely then buff your sole with a clean, non-abrasive cotton or microfibre cloth prior to strutting your stuff once again!
- That’s it… good luck and happy renovating!
Please Note: Our LoubouTint touch-up is designed to disguise small areas of damage on Christian Louboutin red leather soles caused by normal wear and tear. It is NOT designed to be a completely invisible repair or for larger areas of damage. We offer a complete shoe / leather sole refurbishment service as an alternative if so required.
